In the outdoor PVC inflatable product industry, material selection directly determines product safety, durability, and user experience, and food-grade PVC is undoubtedly the core standard for high-end products. As a manufacturer with over a decade of experience in the industry, we always regard material selection as the first step in quality control. Here is an analysis of the core value of food-grade PVC for you.
Firstly, the safety advantage of food-grade PVC is irreplaceable. Different from ordinary industrial PVC, food-grade PVC must pass international standard tests such as FDA 21 CFR Part 177.1670, ensuring that the content of phthalates (plasticizers) is ≤0.1%, and free of toxic substances such as bisphenol A (BPA) and heavy metals. This is crucial for children’s inflatable toys, swim rings, and inflatable sofas and mattresses that may be in long-term contact with the skin, especially suitable for markets with strict requirements on consumer product safety such as Europe, America, and Southeast Asia.
Secondly, food-grade PVC performs excellently in durability. The food-grade PVC fabric we use has undergone anti-aging and UV-resistant treatment, with a tensile strength of more than 15MPa and a tear strength of ≥25kN/m. It can still maintain good elasticity in extreme environments from -20℃ to 60℃, avoiding low-temperature cracking or high-temperature deformation. Taking inflatable pools as an example, products made of food-grade PVC can withstand more than 500 repeated inflation and deflation cycles, and their service life is 30% longer than that of ordinary PVC products.
In addition, the environmental protection of food-grade PVC has been upgraded. The new food-grade PVC we use contains 30% recycled components and can be degraded through specific processes, which not only meets the EU REACH regulation’s control requirements for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) but also meets the current global market demand for sustainable products.
The quality of materials is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye, but we insist on providing third-party test reports for each batch of materials to ensure the safety and durability of the entire series of products such as inflatable sofas, pools, and toys from the source – this is our commitment to customers and the bottom line of a professional manufacturer.
